At Harrold Priory Middle School we like to keep parents informed and supported through their journey with us.
The research shows that parental involvement in children’s learning is a key factor in improving children’s academic attainment and achievements, as well as their overall behaviour and attendance. If you would like to read more about this research please visit the Department for Education website.
Please read the pages in this section to learn how Harrold Priory Middle School supports parents in getting involved in their children’s learning.
We have installed a facility in school which allows us to contact parents more quickly and efficiently. ‘School Comms’ gives us the ability to send emails and text messages to mobile phones and email parents. We will be able to use this facility to get a message to one parent or the whole school very quickly.
We will use the School Comms system to advise parents of the following:
- School Closures
- Emergency notification of flood etc.
- Test and exam date reminders
- Changes to meetings and after school events
- Parents evenings
- Expected time of arrival when returning from a school trip
- Upcoming special school events
- Invitations to a meeting
- General information about what is going on at school
‘School Comms’ is our preferred method of reaching all parents simultaneously in an emergency, so it is important that your contact information is kept ‘up to date’. Please ensure that the school office (email@example.com) has your current mobile telephone number, and inform us immediately if this number changes. Don’t worry at this stage if you do not have a mobile – we will contact you via your landline number. Or, if you are unable to have your mobile telephone switched on at your place of work, please notify us in writing and we will contact you by alternative means. Also please keep us up to date with your latest email address.
Please see the attendance page for the application for leave of absence for your child during term-time.
